Who's behind this?
Hisham Buteen — that's me. I've been obsessed with cars for as long as I can remember, and I've spent the last 17 years putting that obsession into practice — driving on the limit, drifting, and chasing the perfect corner.
My daily is a full bolt-on GT86: racing suspension, stiffer sway bars, custom headers, a shorter final drive, upgraded bushings, a diff brace, and a dozen other small mods that add up to something that feels alive in my hands. Every part on that car has a reason — I chose each one. The ECU was tuned by EcuTek to bring it all together. I've spent more time practicing and talking about cars than I care to admit, and every hour taught me something.
At home I run a proper sim rig — Assetto Corsa, heavily modded, about ten years deep. The sim is where I learn. New techniques, new lines, new limits. Safety has always been the priority, because I want to push the car on track knowing I've already done it a hundred times in the virtual world. No ego, no shortcuts — just lap after lap until it's muscle memory.
I'm also a musician, and that shapes how I drive. There's a point where the car stops feeling like a machine and starts feeling like an instrument — where you stop thinking and the inputs just flow. That flow state, when you and the car are one thing moving through a corner, is what I'm chasing every time I buckle in. The physics, the engineering, the technique — all of it serves that moment.
Back toPits is where I share what I've learned. No corporate overlords. No clickbait. Just honest writing about the cars, the engineering, and the feeling — from someone who's out there living it.
